A valuable urn worth approximately ₹1 crore was stolen last Tuesday from the historic Red Fort complex in Delhi. It is reported that a religious ceremony was being conducted within the Red Fort premises. While attendees were engrossed in the ceremony, thieves took advantage of the situation and stole the urn encrusted with 760 grams of gold and 150 grams of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. The authorities have been informed, and police investigations are underway.
Responding to the alert, police swiftly initiated inquiries into the theft and are actively searching for the culprits. According to information available, a Jain religious event was ongoing at the Red Fort complex during which the theft occurred, with the stolen urn valued at over ₹1 crore.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police reported that the theft occurred at Red Fort Park near Gate Number 15 during the event, and not from inside the fort itself. The stolen urn contained 760 grams of gold along with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds, as confirmed by the police.
Activities of the suspect have been captured on CCTV footage. The authorities have identified the suspect and are expected to apprehend the individual shortly. A formal complaint has been lodged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023, Section 303(2).
