The fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections is about to take place on May 20. In light of this, Uttar Pradesh State Minister Narendra Kashyap had an insightful dialogue with Aaj Tak. Kashyap asserted that the BJP is on track to secure a government with a resounding majority, crossing the 400-seat mark. Reflecting back on 2014, the BJP had made historic strides winning 73 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, and the upcoming 2024 elections look to be a clean sweep with victories in all 80 constituencies.
BJP victorious in Azamgarh, Rampur seats
Kashyap contends that under Uttar Pradesh's laws, even strongholds once claimed by the Samajwadi Party such as Azamgarh and Rampur, have been decisively won over by the BJP. Consequently, it is no longer a challenge for the BJP's lotus symbol to prevail across any constituency. Discussing the Raebareli seat, Kashyap pointed out Rahul Gandhi's loss in Amethi, suggesting a similar outcome is looming in Raebareli as changing seats doesn't guarantee electoral victory, nor does it reshape the Congress ideology.
'Filed papers in Raebareli due to imminent loss in Wayanad'
No matter Sonia Gandhi's appeals for her son's triumph, or the political maneuvers involving former chief ministers, they are not set to gain any ground. Rahul Gandhi, facing potential defeat in Wayanad, filed his nomination in Raebareli. However, the people no longer vote for feudalism, corruption, and dynastic politics.
'Every seat belongs to the people'
Asserting that no seat is anyone's personal property, BJP leader remarks that even Raebareli, the Gandhian stronghold, belongs to the populace. Discussing Amethi, he notes the Congress's attempt to champion KL Sharma, claiming his 40-year rapport with the constituency. Yet, as Rahul Gandhi's loss proved, familiarity with voters doesn't equate to victory, and Kishori Lal Sharma faces the likelihood of defeat, signaling a crushing blow to the Congress.
Further discussing the potential impact of not forming an alliance with Raja Bhaiya in the sixth phase of voting, Kashyap maintains there will be no significant effect. Under Modi's governance, the contractor system has ended, and individual influence on voting is a thing of the past. BJP is poised for victory, just as it succeeded in Azamgarh.
Monarchy no longer has a place in this democratic nation; leaders are elected based on development. The era of dynasties is over. Addressing concerns about low voter turnout, Minister Kashyap attributes this to a deficiency in the opposition's campaign and voter mobilization, underscoring that the opposition's defeat is apparent, whereas BJP supporters remain steadfast.
