Inspector Narayan Deshmukh from the police department stated that a bus bound for Pune under the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) collided with another bus headed towards Solapur. He explained that, 'A two-wheeler suddenly appeared in front of the Pune-bound bus, forcing the driver to swerve to avoid it. This caused the bus to leap over the divider and collide with the oncoming bus.'

The officer reported that there were over 110 passengers aboard the buses. 'Unfortunately, two passengers succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while 64 others from both buses sustained injuries and were promptly sent to the hospital,' stated the official. A case has been filed, and an in-depth investigation into the occurrence is underway.
