In a shocking development emerging from Pune, a juvenile's involvement in a ghastly Porsche accident has taken a dramatic turn with the arrest of his grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, on allegations of manipulating evidence and coercing a driver into false testimony. The incident, which marks the third FIR in this high-profile case, reveals the depths of a desperate attempt to evade justice.

The police disclosed in court that Surendra Agarwal exerted undue influence over his driver, Gangaram, forcing him to accept responsibility for the crash. Moreover, there are reports of Gangaram's kidnapping and detention within Agarwal's luxurious estate, an accusation substantiated by recovered CCTV footage.

Despite Surendra Agarwal's claims of being in Delhi for personal business on the day of the mishap and his non-involvement in the incident, the Pune Police's scrutiny uncovered a nefarious plot. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that the driver was pressured into claiming he was driving at the crash time, an assertion later retracted when evidence pointed to the juvenile's role in the accident.

Allegedly, the minor's family lured the driver into complicity with cash and gifts. His initially altered statement claimed he was behind the wheel during the May 19th incident, a narrative disrupted when police rescued him following a raid prompted by his wife's complaint. Presently, the driver and his family are under police protection.

The forensics lab is anticipated to release blood and DNA sample reports next week.

Based on the driver's complaint, the accused's father Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal are booked under IPC sections related to kidnapping and improper detention. The driver's revised statement removes the responsibility from his shoulders, pinning it back on the accused's relatives, who reportedly pressured him to take the blame. The forensics report, eagerly awaited next week, is set to shed further light on the matter.

The accused squandered $900 on alcohol in a single night

Prior to the accident, the accused reportedly began the evening at Cozy Pub before heading to Marriott Pub when service ended at midnight, incurring a staggering $900 bill. Later at Marriott, an additional $275 was spent on drinks. Builder Vishal Agarwal is currently detained for giving his underage son the car keys, having attempted to misdirect the police and subsequently fleeing. His mobile phone has also vanished.

The Juvenile Justice Board sends the accused to a remand home

The underage defendant has been dispatched to a juvenile remand home. Although the police requested he be tried as an adult, the Juvenile Justice Board's decisions will depend on the investigation's outcome. All bars serving alcohol to the minor have been sealed, and the Pune Municipal Corporation has issued notices to bars operating on illegally occupied land, with two already demolished by bulldozers. Nevertheless, this harsh crackdown prompts local reflections that perhaps earlier strict measures could have spared two young lives from a preventable fate.
