In a tragic turn of events within Pune's Koregaon Park precinct, a couple on a motorcycle was struck by a speeding sports car, resulting in the immediate demise of the woman and the subsequent death of the man during treatment. An infamous builder from Pune is said to be the owner of the car involved. Both deceased, identified as Anees Dudhiya and Ashwini Costa, lost their lives in the accident.
Witness accounts from the scene reveal that the victims, hailing from Rajasthan, were crossing the road when the Porsche car, allegedly travelling at speeds between 200-240 km/h, hit them out of the blue. The impact sent the woman flying 10 feet in the air, and the man suffered broken ribs, rendering him immovable. The car reportedly had three young men inside, one of whom fled the scene. The police later arrived and detained the others involved, each reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
The juvenile responsible for the car accident in Pune, reportedly related to a prominent builder, has been granted bail by the court. The police had registered a case against the car driver at Yerwada police station. The deadly incident had instantly claimed the life of the woman and resulted in the death of her companion during the medical treatment.
District court grants bail
It has been reported that the district court granted bail to the accused within 14 hours following the high-profile car accident in Pune. Upon presenting the builder’s son in court, in relation to the death of two IT engineers, bail was granted under several conditions. The collision between the Porsche car and the two-wheeler occurred around 2:30 AM on a Sunday, instantly claiming the lives of the two IT engineers. Attempting to flee, the culprit was caught and beaten by the public before being handed over to the police.
