SP MLA Puja Pal, who praised CM Yogi Adityanath in the UP Assembly, has been expelled from the party. It is said that SP did not forgive Puja Pal’s second 'mistake' and ousted her for praising CM Yogi. According to SP, Puja Pal's first 'mistake' was voting against the party in the Rajya Sabha elections for BJP, a move the party initially ignored. However, her second 'mistake' was considered intolerable.
The Samajwadi Party refused to forgive MLA Puja Pal from Kaushambi's Chayal for her second 'offense', removing her from the party for her admiration of the Yogi government. In response to her dismissal, Puja Pal stated, "I just want to say that CM Yogi Adityanath ensured justice for families tormented by Ateeq Ahmed. When something is right, it must be acknowledged as such."

It should be noted that Puja Pal had already been on SP’s 'exit list'. Previously, during the Rajya Sabha voting, she cross-voted in favor of BJP candidates, alongside four other SP MLAs. Akhilesh Yadav took action against four of them, excluding Puja Pal until now.
Nonetheless, praising CM Yogi during UP Assembly's monsoon session marked Puja Pal's second 'mistake' within SP, viewed as gross indiscipline, resulting in her swift expulsion.

Puja Pal commended CM Yogi Adityanath, stating that his government practices zero tolerance towards violence against women, which is why Ateeq Ahmed is now facing consequences. She also mentioned she is not against the party, but Yogi’s decision personally brought her peace, leading to her praising CM Yogi.
Know that former MLA Raju Pal was Puja Pal’s husband, whose murder was orchestrated by Ateeq Ahmed’s aides. This tragedy occurred just nine days after Puja Pal’s marriage, sparked by election rivalry. In 2004, Raju Pal defeated Ateeq’s brother Ashraf in elections, leading to his murder.

'The Chief Minister ensured that my husband's murderer Ateeq Ahmed was brought down,' I support his zero tolerance approach.'
