The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has issued a remarkable statement concerning the Mahakumbh. He rebuked a statement by SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, claiming those who spread negativity are the ones who have always enjoyed the government's VVIP treatment. They consistently stand against India and Sanatan Dharma, engaging in malicious propaganda. Meanwhile, the Yogi government has issued strict instructions to improve the traffic plan for Magh Purnima bathing at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
According to an official statement, commencing February 11, the Kumbh Mela area will be a 'No Vehicle Zone', with designated parking for external vehicles. Starting at 5:00 PM on February 11, the 'No Vehicle Zone' will be enforced in Prayagraj city. The traffic restrictions will remain in effect in Prayagraj from 5:00 PM on February 11 until February 12. Traffic restrictions will also apply to the vehicles of Kalpavasis. Authorities have appealed for public cooperation to ensure the organized completion of the Magh Purnima bath.

The Yogi government has introduced a special traffic plan to ensure the safe and smooth movement of devotees during the Magh Purnima bath at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Inline with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision of a 'safe Mahakumbh', the entire Mela area is declared a 'No Vehicle Zone' from 4:00 AM on February 11, 2025, allowing entry only for essential and emergency services.
After 4:00 AM on February 11, all private and public vehicles reaching Prayagraj will be directed to their designated parking areas along specified routes. This measure aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the city and allow pilgrims seamless access to the bathing ghats by foot.
Additionally, from 5:00 PM on February 11, the 'No Vehicle Zone' will extend to the entire city of Prayagraj. Only emergency services will be exempt from this rule. This special traffic plan will remain in effect until the conclusion of the Magh Purnima bath on February 12, ensuring the safe departure of pilgrims from the Mela site.
The same rules will apply to the vehicles of devotees performing Kalpavas. The administration urges all Kalpavasis to adhere to the guidelines and utilize only the authorized parking facilities.
Officials have also called on visitors to comply with traffic rules and cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth and organized bathing festival at the Mahakumbh.
