PM Modi Kicks Off Election Campaign in Meerut with a Stirring Address

Addressing a rally in Meerut, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ignited the electoral fervor, paying homage to the revolutionary spirit of the terrain which produced heroes like Chaudhary Charan Singh, whom the government had the privilege to honor with the Bharat Ratna. Modi expressed a unique bond with Meerut, having initiated his election campaigns of 2014 and 2019 from there, and now, the first rally of 2024 as well. He stridently affirmed that the purpose of these elections transcends the choice of representatives; it is about India's transformative journey towards becoming the world’s third-largest economic powerhouse.

PM Modi highlighted the economic strides made under his leadership, pointing out that India’s surge from the 11th to the 5th largest economy lifted 250 million citizens out of poverty and that rising to the 3rd place will not only eradicate poverty but also bolster a dynamic middle class. He emphasized that today, India’s global standing has soared and that he works with future generations in mind. He proudly presented a decade's worth of achievements before the public.

Modi recalled promises made to veterans regarding the One Rank One Pension scheme which were left unfulfilled until his administration took the helm. He addressed the outlawing of Triple Talaq and reservation for women in legislatures as vast leaps towards women empowerment. He also spoke on the rapid development following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.

Modi’s Pledge to the Forgotten

The Prime Minister conveyed his empathy for the poor, risen from privations himself. He elaborated on initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing up to Rs. 5 lakhs for medical expenses, and free ration distributed to 800 million underprivileged citizens. 'The ignored have been honored by Modi,' he asserted.

PM Modi Chronicles Government Accomplishments

The PM rhapsodically listed landmark initiatives like the Mudra scheme that empowered millions of women to start their own businesses, significant enhancements in basic amenities, and the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. His address included a focus on programs that transformed millions of women into 'Lakhpati Sisters' and the introduction of modern drones for them.

Prime Minister Modi spoke of his stern action against corruption, which has riled many vested interests. Scrupulous individuals are feeling the heat with siezed assets being returned. The PM’s unwavering stance was clear: Regardless of the severity of attacks against him, he will not be deterred in his fight against corruption.

Accusations against Congress Over Kachchativu Island

In Meerut, the Prime Minister assailed the Congress for ceding Kachchativu Island, framing it as a betrayal of the nation's integrity, and condemning fishermen to a life of hardship. He questioned the alliance’s ability to act in the best interest of the country, claiming that his government has always prioritized farmer welfare.

CM Yogi Speaks on Meerut's Transformation

Before PM Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the assembly, proclaiming the government's assurance of development. He spoke of Meerut's significant progress and the change in narratives from communal strife to communal harmony and development since 2014, drawing a stark contrast between personal legacy politics and national interest – underscoring the crucial choices to be made in the elections.
