On Sunday, a helicopter crash in Porbandar, Gujarat, led to the tragic demise of three individuals, including two pilots. One of the victims was Deputy Commandant Sudhir Yadav from Kanpur. When his family received the heartbreaking news, mourning immediately took over their home. Relatives and acquaintances have been visiting to express their condolences.

However, Sudhir's father, Nawab Singh Yadav, is deeply pained by the recurring incidents involving the type of helicopter his son was flying. Despite frequent accidents, these helicopters have not been decommissioned. Nawab Singh Yadav, a retired soldier himself, shares that both his wife and Sudhir's mother, Rajmani Yadav, as well as Sudhir's brother Dharmendra, are in the Airforce. Sudhir's wife serves as a judicial officer in Patna.

Sudhir's wife had returned from Gujarat to Patna just on Saturday. The next day, the devastating news of Sudhir's demise reached her. The family, devoted to national service, is heartbroken by their brave son's sacrifice. Yet, Nawab Singh Yadav continues to voice his concern over these types of helicopters being persistently used despite frequent accidents, one of which earlier resulted in the death of Sudhir's Colonel.

Previous incidents, including one in September, involving the same helicopter model, have not resulted in any policy changes. Despite ongoing mishaps, these helicopters remain in service. Friends, relatives, and the military community are visiting Sudhir's Kanpur home to pay their respects.

Sudhir's body is expected to arrive at Kanpur Airport on Monday evening, with cremation planned for Tuesday. He was aboard the Coast Guard's Dhruv helicopter. According to the ICG statement, the ICG HAL SK-3 helicopter CG 859 crashed at Porbandar airport's runway at 12:15 PM on Sunday, causing the deaths of two pilots and one sailor.
