Once again, a political storm has erupted in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, over the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan (JP). On one side, Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party (SP), is adamant about laying a wreath at the JP International Center (JPNIC). On the other hand, the Uttar Pradesh government is trying to prevent him with various reasons.
An imposing wall of tin has been erected at the gate of the JP Center. Yet, Akhilesh Yadav has declared that he will indeed go to JPNIC to pay tribute at JP's statue. Anticipating this, the Lucknow police have deployed a large police force at JPNIC.
Letter by the LDA Secretary
The reasons given for not allowing Akhilesh Yadav to visit JPNIC are being continually challenged by the Samajwadi Party. Notably, the Secretary of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has issued a letter concerning Akhilesh Yadav's program to visit JPNIC on Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary.

Mention of Pest Threats in the Letter
The LDA Secretary's letter notes, 'JPNIC is a construction site where building materials are scattered, potentially inviting pests due to rain. Given that Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav holds Z+ category security, it isn't safe or appropriate for him to lay a wreath or visit JPNIC.'
Center Built During Akhilesh's Tenure
In response, the entire Samajwadi Party has launched a significant attack on the government. A poster by the Samajwadi Party has been placed at the gate of JPNIC, honoring Jayaprakash Narayan. This poster is strategically placed right at the entrance of JPNIC. It is worth noting that the JP Center was constructed during Akhilesh's administration. Akhilesh accuses the Yogi government of preparing to sell the JP Center, while the BJP government cites corruption and points to an ongoing investigation.
