PM Modi's Grand Rally in Doda, First PM Visit in 42 Years

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. He will speak in Doda district, marking the first Prime Minister visit in 42 years. Modi will also hold another rally in Kurukshetra, Haryana, expected to arrive by 3:50 PM.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, today for a significant election rally. This marks the first time in 42 years that a Prime Minister has visited Doda. Following this, he will also campaign in Kurukshetra, Haryana. Comprehensive multi-layered security arrangements have been made around the rally site, spanning both Doda and Kishtwar districts. The rally will take place in a stadium in Doda.

Union Minister of Mines and Coal and BJP election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir, G Kishan Reddy, stated on Friday, "Prime Minister Modi will hold his first election meeting in Doda. This is significant as it is the first Prime Minister visit to Doda in 42 years; the last visit was in 1982." Supporters are highly enthusiastic and fully prepared to welcome the Prime Minister ahead of his rally.

Voting in J-K Starts from September 18

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections will begin on September 18, with the first phase covering eight assembly seats in Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban. The elections will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with the vote counting on October 8. These are the first Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir in a decade, now a Union Territory.

In August 2019, the central government repealed Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that peace has since returned to the region. However, a recent increase in terrorist activities has been noted, prompting ongoing operations by security forces. Just today, security teams neutralized two terrorists.

PM Modi's Rally in Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address an election rally in Kurukshetra, Haryana today. The state's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, in an Ex post, urged people to attend the rally. He wrote, "Welcome and greetings to the world's most popular leader, India's successful Prime Minister, the most esteemed Narendra Modi Ji, on the sacred land of Haryana, the land of the Gita and wisdom... A warm invitation to all."

Prime Minister Modi is expected to address the rally at 3:45 PM at the Theme Park in Kurukshetra. The Haryana elections will occur on October 5, with the vote count on October 8.
