The police swiftly captured the individual accused of threatening the life of MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, from Purnia, Bihar, within just 24 hours. Identified as Ram Babu Rai, son of Rameshwar Yadav, the suspect hails from the Shahpur police station area in Ara. Conducting a raid in Dumariya, Shahpur, the Purnia police arrested Rai, bringing him to Purnia for questioning.
The Claim of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Connection
Ram Babu Rai audaciously declared himself a member of the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, issuing threats to MP Pappu Yadav. On December 1st, Rai sent a 13-second video to Yadav, ominously stating, 'We have been ordered to kill Pappu Yadav in 5-6 days, and we will do so shortly; we have already reached Patna.'
Previously, on the night of November 29th, Yadav received a threatening message via WhatsApp, indicating an assassination attempt within 24 hours in the name of the Bishnoi gang. The message grimly warned, 'We will kill you in the next 24 hours; our team is ready, and even your guards cannot save you. Greetings from Lawrence and his crew on your last birthday.'
Police Take Firm Action
Upon receiving the threats, the police took decisive action, forming a team to apprehend Ram Babu Rai. They successfully arrested him from Dumariya village in Shahpur.
Currently, the suspect is being interrogated. The police aim to uncover whether he genuinely belongs to an organized criminal syndicate or was merely attempting to intimidate the MP. Investigations in this case are ongoing.
