It was October 13, 2024. It had been 24 hours since Baba Siddique’s murder in Mumbai. Sitting more than a thousand kilometers away in Purnia from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Jail and Mumbai’s Bandra, seven-time independent MP and former strongman Pappu Yadav suddenly made a social media post.
Pappu Yadav Issued an Open Threat to Lawrence
As soon as the post was made, Pappu Yadav became the headline across the national media. He didn’t just stop at issuing a public threat to Lawrence; he went on to visit Mumbai from Purnia. He met with Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, and assured him of his support. Though he intended to meet Salman Khan as well, Salman was busy shooting. Nonetheless, Pappu Yadav returned to Purnia after having an encouraging phone conversation with Salman and later shared the conversation through another post.
Revealed the Threat to the Entire Nation
Everything was going fine until, suddenly, three days ago on late Sunday night, Pappu Yadav received an anonymous call on his mobile. The conversation was long. For the first time, Pappu Yadav became aware that the Lawrence gang had just threatened him on the phone. Nonetheless, he decided to make the entire phone conversation public, revealing each detail of the threat received from the Lawrence gang.
Threatened Again on the Phone
This was merely the first installment of threats from the Lawrence Gang. Soon after, Pappu Yadav's mobile rang again with another threatening call. The gravity of the call and seriousness of threats became evident to Yadav, who then immediately petitioned the government to enhance his existing security measures.
Jammer Shutoff Costs 1 Lakh Rupees Per Minute
During the threatening call, the intimidator mentioned two crucial things: First, the call to threaten Pappu Yadav was made possible by shutting off the jail jammer for ten minutes, with the cost being 1 lakh rupees per minute. Thus, to make a ten-minute call, the perpetrator spent 10 lakh rupees. Naturally, the jail staff is suggested to be behind the jammer shutdown.
Lawrence Bishnoi is Imprisoned at Sabarmati Jail
In other words, jail staff was able to make 10 lakh rupees from a ten-minute shutdown. The second crucial detail is that the intimidator provided Pappu Yadav an opportunity to call Sabarmati Jail and it's public knowledge that Lawrence is imprisoned there. The question now is whether Pappu Yadav will call Lawrence and, even more importantly, if he does, will he make that conversation public as well?
Did Ajju Bishnoi Threaten Pappu Yadav?
Insiders suggest that the Lawrence gang member who intimidated Pappu Yadav over the phone is named Ajju Bishnoi, although within the gang everyone calls him ‘Hakla’ due to his stuttering. Ajju is known to be close to Lawrence’s younger brother Anmol Bishnoi. According to Mumbai police sources, it was Anmol Bishnoi who was in constant contact with the shooters involved in Baba Siddique’s attack.
Pappu Yadav strengthened his security arrangements after the threats.
