After an attempted attack on 15 cities by Pakistan, India responded under Operation Sindoor on Thursday. In this action, India demolished an air defense system in Lahore. A Ministry of External Affairs press conference on Thursday provided detailed information on the issue. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam was a provocation, whereas India's response was measured and precise.
Global Terrorism Hub
Joining Vikram Misri at this press conference were Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, as witnessed in Wednesday’s briefing. Misri unveiled Pakistan's actions as a terrorism hub on a global scale, noting irrefutable evidence of its involvement in various international terrorist acts. He emphasized that the world knows where Osama bin Laden was found and which nation declared him a martyr.

Misri explained how Pakistan had executed terror activities in India for decades, deceiving the world. Notably, mass-terrorists listed by the UN, like Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed, roam freely on Pakistani soil. Organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad prosper there. Pakistan’s Defense Minister and past Foreign Minister recently acknowledged connections with terrorists.
Neglecting Evidence
Commenting on the impartiality of investigation claims, Misri outlined previous incidents like the Pahalgam attack, showing Pakistan's lacking response to clear evidence. Despite concrete forensic proof given to Pakistan during the Mumbai and Pathankot attacks, no action against terror leaders was initiated. This pattern of ignoring incriminating evidence is often used as a shield by Pakistan.
Army at Terrorist Funerals
Misri questioned Pakistan's claims of civilian casualties in strikes, highlighting how coffins get draped in state flags and military officials attend funerals—a custom reserved for terrorists in Pakistan, questioning such practices for ordinary citizens.
He dispelled Pakistan's assertions of religious site targeting, confirming only terrorist strongholds were hit. Conversely, Pakistan’s breach of ceasefire involved targeting Poonch’s gurdwara and attacking Sikh homes, costing three lives and with cross-border firing killing 16 more.
