Pakistan Fears Indian Drones, Needs Advanced Defense

Dr. Cheema stressed the crucial need for Pakistan to acquire a model similar to the S-400. Without it, the Indian Air Force would continue to laugh at us, saying, 'This is the Pakistani defense system, don't worry, we know how it works. Pakistan's defense system is ineffective.'

During Operation Sindhur, India's deep-strike capabilities and drone warfare strategy caused a stir in Pakistan's strategic circles. Senior Pakistani analyst Dr. Qamar Cheema admitted that India's aerial prowess has exposed serious flaws in Pakistan's defense system. He stated that Pakistan urgently needs a modern defense system like India, or it faces the risk of even greater losses in the future.

'Pakistan Needs a Model Like the S-400'

Dr. Cheema stressed that Pakistan requires a model similar to the S-400. If we don't acquire this, the Indian Air Force will continue to laugh at us, mocking the Pakistani defense system with remarks like, 'Don't worry, we know how it works. Pakistan's defense system doesn't work at all.'

He also acknowledged that Indian drone incursions into Pakistani airspace have caused a lot of confusion and panic. It was quite absurd that Indian drones intruded into Pakistani territory, leaving us baffled about what was happening.

'Prepare Now, or It Will Be Too Late'

Cheema pointed out that Pakistan must now heavily invest in air defense, drone warfare, and electronic warfare. He warned, 'Pakistan must now conduct (drone) attacks. India has used both soft and hard kill methods. Pakistan needs a robust defense system like India's. We must invest in it because a war is imminent. It is a war of technology—drones, air forces, and electronic warfare. We must focus on this now and develop indigenous capabilities. Prepare before it's too late.'

India Destroys AWACS Aircraft

Cheema's comment came when Pakistan's military also admitted suffering serious damages from India's retaliatory strikes. Retired Air Marshal Masood Akhtar recently disclosed that India's BrahMos missile destroyed a Pakistani AWACS aircraft (Airborne Warning and Control System) at Bholeari Airbase near Karachi. He recounted, 'Pilots scrambled to save their aircraft, but missiles kept coming in. The fourth missile even took out the hangar.'
