After the Pahalgam terror attack, tensions have significantly escalated between India and Pakistan. India is taking stringent actions against Pakistan, prompting fears of retaliation in Pakistan. Amidst this, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar shamelessly admitted in Parliament that he had the name of the terrorist group TRF, responsible for the Pahalgam attack, removed from a UNSC resolution.

PAK Defends Terrorists

The TRF, associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack. Notably, India did not blame TRF, but the group itself claimed the attack. Despite this, Pakistan had the terrorist organization's name removed from a UNSC proposal. Pakistan is currently one of the 10 non-permanent members of the UNSC, elected for two-year terms.

While speaking in Parliament, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that a condemnation proposal from the UNSC related to the Pahalgam attack was received, mentioning only Pahalgam, with no reference to Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan objected to this. Dar further stated that the TRF was held responsible for the attack in the proposal, which was unacceptable to Pakistan, leading to the refusal to sign without amendments.

Proposal Changes Initiated

Ishaq Dar mentioned that they instructed their permanent representative at the UN to oppose the proposal and include Jammu and Kashmir along with Pahalgam while removing TRF from it. Pakistani Foreign Minister claimed that they received calls from several countries questioning the changes. However, Pakistan stood firm and had the proposal amended.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister questioned the evidence of TRF's involvement in the attack, arguing against its name appearing in the proposal without proof. Ishaq Dar even claimed TRF did not take responsibility for the attack. The minister seemed intent on defending the terrorist organization. Member states' approval is necessary for issuing any UNSC proposal, and Pakistan used this rule to protect the terrorists.

The Resistance Front Explained

The terrorist group The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack and is affiliated with Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba. TRF employed their special terror modules, Falcon Squad, known for being fierce and agile. Falcon Squad is not a direct group but a tactical terror module, meaning small groups assembled for specific missions and then dissolved or reorganized.

TRF's Falcon Squad considers itself a revenge group. As such, Falcon is a specific unit operating with this methodology. In the future, Falcon Squad could pose a significant threat to national security.
