Outrage spread across the nation after the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. To crush the backbone of terror, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor, conducting air strikes on terrorist targets in Pakistan and PoK. However, this was not just about avenging the Pahalgam attack. Through these air strikes, India also settled past scores.

In a joint operation involving the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, air strikes were conducted on nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and PoK, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, Gulpur, Bhimber, Chak Amru, Bagh, Kotli, Sialkot, and Muzaffarabad. On November 26, 2008, Mumbai witnessed a major terrorist attack. Ten terrorists from the Pakistan-based organization Lashkar-e-Taiba infiltrated Mumbai via the sea and launched a brutal assault, resulting in the deaths of 166 people. The attackers were linked directly to Pakistan.

The 2016 Uri Attack

On September 18, 2016, a military base at Uri in Jammu & Kashmir was attacked. The assault on the Brigade Headquarters led to the martyrdom of 19 soldiers. India blamed Jaish-e-Mohammed for the attack, which involved grenades and automatic weapons.

The 2019 Pulwama Attack

On February 14, 2019, a terrorist attack occurred in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, claiming the lives of 40 Indian soldiers and injuring many others. Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for this lethal assault, one of the deadliest in India, escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Thus, through military actions in Pakistan and PoK, India not only answered the Pahalgam attack but also avenged these past terrorist assaults.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally named the operation 'Operation Sindoor'. Over a week's meetings, PM Modi clarified that terrorists targeted Hindu men in the Pahalgam attack, leaving wives widowed, and emphasized the necessity of demonstrating that terrorists cannot evade justice.

Reports indicate that over 90 terrorists have been eliminated in this operation. The Indian intelligence agency RAW identified all targets for the airstrikes, leading to successful attacks on Lashkar and Jaish bases.
