A dedicated rescue mission under 'Operation Sindhu' brought Indian students from the war-torn region of Mashhad, Iran, with Mahan Air's second special flight (W5071) landing safely at Delhi Airport on Saturday night. The flight carried approximately 290 Indian students, a significant number of whom hailed from Kashmir.

The Ministry of External Affairs reported that the flight arrived in Delhi at 11:30 PM. This operation has successfully repatriated a total of 1,117 Indian citizens from Iran. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal mentioned that Operation Sindhu is accelerating, with plans for two more special flights from Iran to arrive in Delhi on Sunday.

Jammu and Kashmir Student Association expressed thanks for this successful rescue mission, highlighting the emotional significance for families eagerly waiting for their children's safe return. Students' return brought immense relief and peace to their families.

The association stated that students had been extremely anxious and mentally exhausted due to living in a war-torn environment. Their safe homecoming has offered significant relief, especially for Kashmir, where most students reside.

The association also extended gratitude to the Government of India, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Indian Embassy in Iran for their timely and effective coordination in ensuring the safe return of students. They pleaded for the prompt evacuation of around 700 Kashmiri students still stranded in various parts of Iran, ensuring their safe repatriation.
