A 20-year-old college student in Balasore, Odisha, has made shocking revelations in a self-immolation case. The student's family alleges that the college principal pressured her to withdraw a sexual harassment complaint and forced her to apologize to the accused. Tragically, the student succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
According to the family, the student was summoned to the principal's office around noon on July 12th. The Head of Department was also present. The victim was reportedly kept inside until 12:30 PM. Shortly after exiting, at approximately 12:40 PM, she doused herself in petrol and set herself ablaze.

The student's cousin reported the incident to the police, alleging that the principal warned her that failing to retract her complaint would bring such shame that she might feel driven to end her life.
