Red Alert Issued in Uttar Pradesh
The Indian Meteorological Department has announced a red alert for intense heat and looming heatwaves in Uttar Pradesh over the next few days. Conditions are expected to degrade gradually post-June 19th. Recently, Prayagraj reported a sweltering high of 47.6°C, with Lucknow not far behind at 46°C.

Lucknow might endure the heatwave until June 19th, afterwards, the forecast suggests weather changes including gusty winds and possible thundershowers from June 20th. According to the IMD, Lucknow's temperatures this week may range between 40-45°C at the maximum and settle around 30-32°C at the minimum.

Monsoon currents are observed traversing areas of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, the northwestern Bay of Bengal, select parts of the Ganga plains in West Bengal, the remaining sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and some sections of Bihar.
