In a tragic incident at the GIP Mall located in Noida's Sector-39 police station area, a woman leapt from the fourth floor late at night. She succumbed to her injuries upon hitting the ground. The woman, identified as 36-year-old Akanksha Sood, was a resident of Karawal Nagar, Delhi.
Reports suggest that Akanksha had been enduring mental stress for a prolonged period and was involved in a divorce case. Allegedly due to these reasons, Akanksha took the drastic step of jumping off the fourth floor of the GIP Mall last night. Police arrived at the scene upon receiving the information and took the body into custody for post-mortem examination.
Noida Police revealed that Akanksha Sood ascended to the fourth floor through the mall's fire exit stairs last night and ended her life by jumping off. The police rushed to the scene as soon as the information was received and took possession of the body for post-mortem procedures. During the investigation, it was discovered that disputes between Akanksha and her husband began just 15 days after their marriage. They were currently engaged in divorce proceedings.
The deceased's brother and sister-in-law informed the police that Akanksha had no connections with Noida as they lived in Delhi. Family disputes had mentally distressed Akanksha, potentially leading her to this step. Currently, the police are examining every angle, and interrogations with her husband and in-laws will be undertaken.
This incident happened at the Garden Galleria Mall.
It is noteworthy that a similar incident was reported from Noida's Garden Galleria Mall a few days ago. The police arrested a company's director for inappropriate behavior and threatening a young woman during an office party.
According to Noida Police's media cell, the victim, a woman working at a building consultancy firm in Indirapuram, lodged a complaint. She detailed that the company director, Bhupendra Kumar Ramaiya, had hosted a party for the employees at a restaurant in Noida's Sector 38A Garden Galleria Mall last Saturday.
The woman accused Ramaiya of misconduct in an inebriated state during the party, claiming he touched her inappropriately. When she confronted Ramaiya about his inappropriate conduct, he threatened to terminate her employment and warned of dire consequences. Subsequently, the woman filed a case at Sector 39 police station on Monday night.
