'Aiming for Islamic Rule in India', Serious Allegations Against PFI in NIA's Chargesheet

In Kerala, the investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against the Popular Front of India (PFI) is ongoing. In this sequence, the NIA has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Sahir K.V, who is accused in the case against PFI. This chargesheet was filed by the National Investigation Agency in the NIA's special court on Monday.

In fact, after the heinous crime related to Srinivasan's targeted killing on March 16, 2022, Sahir K.V was on the run. The police and all the agencies were in search of him. Sahir K.V, a resident of Pattambi in Palakkad, is the secretary of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in the Pattambi region. He was apprehended by the NIA's Absconder Tracking Team on May 16, 2023.   He was an integral part of the PFI assault team responsible for carrying out terrorist activities. Sahir K.V is now facing several charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On March 17, 2023, the NIA filed a comprehensive charge sheet against 59 accused in this case. According to it, the organization radicalized influential Muslim youths. They trained them in handling weapons. To raise funds and create communal division among people of different communities, PFI and its leaders hatched a criminal conspiracy, which was investigated by the NIA in the case registered in September 2022.

The Aim was Establishing Islamic Rule

According to the agency, the said organization was conspiring to carry out acts of terror and violence with the ultimate aim of establishing Islamic rule in India by 2047. Now, in this case, the NIA team is making determined efforts to locate and capture the remaining 10 fugitive accused.

It should be noted that on September 22, 2022, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids nationwide on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and related locations. ED, NIA, and state police arrested more than 100 individuals associated with PFI in different cases. These arrests took place in more than 10 states.

At that time, NIA also detained the national president of PFI, OMA Salam, and the Delhi president. Meanwhile, PFI workers staged protests in several states against this raid by the investigation agency.

During that period, NIA conducted raids on PFI and its related locations in several states, including UP, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Bihar. NIA acted based on information about suspicious activities linked to PFI and its members.
