The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids today at 15 locations across seven districts in Jammu and Kashmir, namely Srinagar, Pulwama, Awantipora, Anantnag, Shopian, Poonch, and Kupwara, related to terrorism cases. Over the last 20 days, NIA has raided more than 70 locations targeting terrorists and their supporters.

As the G20 summit nears, NIA is focused on destabilizing terrorist operations. There were intelligence inputs suggesting that cross-border terrorist leaders were sending encrypted messages to their operatives attempting to disrupt the summit. Investigations reveal that those targeted are either underground workers or intermediaries supplying magnetic and sticky bombs. They are influencing youth online under Pakistan’s influence.

The main aim of the plotters was to carry out violent terrorist attacks using IEDs and small arms in Jammu and Kashmir, radicalizing local youth to execute significant attacks through them.

These raids were part of an ongoing NIA investigation into a terrorist conspiracy, providing clandestine support to new terror organizations. Groups like The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Ghazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, are involved in executing terror activities in the region.

Under NIA directives, 14 mobile apps have been banned this month. The G20 meeting in Kashmir will welcome 200 delegates, including 80 from G20 nations. Pakistan is encouraging protests and social media campaigns to boycott the Kashmir G20 Tourism Working Group meeting. Intelligence sources identified over 100 anti-India profiles and mobile numbers posting boycott-related content.

Several users created hashtags opposing the meeting scheduled for May 22-24. On May 11, Pakistan ran a Twitter Storm, an online campaign disseminating misinformation against G20 in the valley. Protests were also held in Rawalakot and POK against the meeting.
