SP Vidyasagar Mishra from Rampur stated that a list of approximately 40 such history-sheeters was prepared under the 'Missing History-Sheeter Verification Campaign', whose current addresses were unknown and whose annual verification remarks had not been recorded for several years. This campaign aimed to gather information on the identity and status of criminals about whom no data had been available for a long time.
In this investigative drive, the then-station officer of Shahabad, Pankaj Pant, along with his team, achieved a significant breakthrough. When they started gathering information about the old history-sheeter Janzali, alias Jalaluddin, registered in Shahabad's criminal records, they discovered he was residing in Delhi.
The team conducted covert surveillance in Delhi and finally managed to arrest him. Police said Jalaluddin had been absconding for the past 43 years, with no record of his presence or activities in local police files. Currently, legal proceedings are underway against him, and he has been sent to jail.
