What makes the Toyota Fortuner MHEV stand out?
In terms of appearance and design, this new SUV is virtually identical to the regular model. It resembles the Fortuner Legender available in the Indian market, albeit the South African launch includes a range of color options, while the Legender in India comes only in dual-tone, black, and white.
Power and Mileage:
The Fortuner MHEV features the traditional 2.8-liter diesel engine, paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. This hybrid setup bestows an additional 16hp of power and 42Nm of torque. Collectively, the engine delivers 201hp and 500Nm of torque. Toyota claims that this hybrid Fortuner offers roughly a 5% mileage improvement over its regular 2.8-liter diesel engine counterpart.

It's available in both Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) and Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) versions. The company asserts that its idle start-stop technology allows the hybrid Fortuner to deliver a smoother throttle response. Additionally, it features an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with a 360-degree camera.
