The situation remains chaotic at New Delhi Railway Station even after the panic. Following the frightening event on Saturday night, a significant crowd was seen at the station on Sunday. A similar scenario was observed in the Sampark Kranti train departing from Delhi to Bihar, with people opting to enter through the emergency window due to overcrowding at the regular entrances.
As the pictures clearly show, as soon as the train arrived on the platform, a massive rush of people surged forward to board the train. According to the information, the crowd consisted mainly of unreserved and waiting ticket holders beyond the reserved count. This situation led to shoving and pushing. People were seen tossing their luggage through the emergency window of the sleeper coach in an attempt to board the train.

18 Lives Lost
It is reported that the stampede at New Delhi Station on Saturday night resulted in the loss of 18 lives. A waiter at Indian Railways, who was an eyewitness, described how people got confused, leading to chaos and the subsequent stampede. He narrated the harrowing experience of people struggling to catch their breath in a meticulously detailed account. He explained that after an announcement for a train arriving from Prayagraj on platform 16, chaos ensued, resulting in the stampede.

In the meantime, the government has announced compensation for the victims' families. As per the announcement, the deceased's relatives will receive ₹10 lakh, the seriously injured will receive ₹2.5 lakh, and those with minor injuries will receive ₹1 lakh in compensation.
A high-level inquiry has been ordered into the stampede at the Delhi Railway Station. Northern Railway's CPRO, Himanshu Shekhar, also issued a statement regarding the incident. He mentioned that during the incident, the Magadh Express heading towards Patna was stationed on platform 14, and the Sampark Kranti heading towards Jammu was on platform 15. During this time, there was a crowd on the platform, and several passengers slipped and fell, leading to this tragic accident. A high-level committee is conducting an investigation into this incident.
