Day by day, new revelations are emerging in the NEET UG exam. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has so far arrested 13 individuals, including a few candidates. The ongoing investigation points to Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, a Junior Engineer in Danapur's Municipal Council, as the mastermind behind the NEET paper leak. The captured candidates, during interrogation, disclosed the mechanism of Sikandar’s operation. Here, we present to you the underground confessions, exactly as relayed to the police under oath.

The confession narrative unfolds as follows:
Candidate Shivnandan Kumar (age 19)
Residence - Haraiya, Police Station: Barachatti, District: Gaya

I am here before the Shastri Nagar police station to make a confession that is untainted by fear, pressure, or greed. I have family relations with Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu and he had informed me about the scheduled NEET exam date. I was preparing to stay in Patna's Buddha Colony. On the evening of the exam date announcement, I met Uncle Sikandar and he directed me to Amit Anand and Nitish, where I was tutored and made to memorize the question paper and answers. At my exam center, Patliputra Colony International School, the very questions and answers I was given matched the exam paper I received. Post-exam, the police apprehended me and I accepted my wrongdoing.

Candidate Abhishek Kumar (age 21)
Residence: Kako Block, Gokhul Marg, District: Ranchi

As I was preparing for NEET, staying in Ranchi, my father introduced me to Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu, a family friend. My father told me about the NEET exam date, and we went to Patna on the 3rd, where I met Uncle Sikander. On the night of the 4th, Sikandar Uncle introduced me to two individuals, Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar. They taught and memorized the NEET question paper with me. During the examination at KD Convent School, Bariya, the provided question paper and answers were accurate. After the exam, the police came and arrested me.

Candidate Abhishek’s father, Awadhesh Kumar (age 47)
Residence: Kako Block, Gokhul Marg, District: Ranchi

I knew Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu, who works at the Nagar Parishad, Danapur. Our friendship burgeoned through construction dealings. Sikandar revealed that NEET exam dates had been fixed, assuring our son’s success. Subsequently, we handed blank checks as advance payment, and on the eve of the exam, my son Abhishek was guided through the leaked question paper. After the exam, both my son and I were apprehended by the police.

Candidate Ayush Raj’s father, Akhilesh Kumar (age 43)

I had prior acquaintance with Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu. I visited him at Nagar Parishad, Danapur, where unable to resist the temptation, I accepted his proposition for ensuring my son's success in the NEET exam, for a fee of 40 lakhs. Following this, my son Ayush received the question paper and answers on the night before his examination.

Candidate Anurag Yadav (age 22)
Residence: Parida, Police Station: Hasanpur, District: Samastipur

Preparing for NEET in Kota at Allen Coaching Centre, I soon learned from my uncle, Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu, that the NEET examination had been rigged. I returned to Bihar from Kota and was handed the exam paper along with answers, which turned out to match exactly with the paper presented during the examination. After the exam, I was taken into custody by the police.

Accused Nitish Kumar (age 32)
Current address: Pratibha Colony, near Kachuara Mod, Police Station: Gopalpur, District: Patna

My connection with Sikandar involved leaking competitive exam papers, an offence for which we were apprehended post-exam, as the written answers were being memorized by the candidates. Sikandar was arrested, and his indication led to our capture. The police seized the remaining burned fragments of the question and answer sheets from our flat.

Accused Amit Anand (age 29)
Resides near Mangal Bazaar, Kotwali district: Munger

Friendship with Sikandar Pr. Yadavendu led to our enterprise of leaked exam papers for various examinations, including NEET. Upon Sikandar’s arrest, we too faced the consequences. The burnt remains of NEET question papers and admit cards from different exams, collected from my rented flat, were seized by police. I acknowledge my crimes.

Clearly, these confessions point to JE Sikandar as the linchpin of a scheme that risked the future of countless NEET aspirants for sums between 30-40 lakhs.
