NDA bags a 43% vote share

If we trust the exit poll figures, the NDA has secured a 43% vote share in Telangana. Meanwhile, the INDIA alliance has garnered a 39% vote share. Speaking of seat sharing, the NDA is anticipated to win 11-12 seats, whilst the INDIA alliance might secure 4-6 seats.

Bharatiya Janata Party to make a surprising performance in Telangana, says exit poll

According to the India Today My Axis exit poll survey, the BJP could make a startling performance in Telangana, potentially winning 11-12 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats, while the ruling Congress is expected to bag 4-6 seats. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, might get 0-1 seats, while former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) may face a defeat.

What could the vote percentage look like?

In terms of vote percentage share, the NDA is hoped to receive 43% of the total votes, followed by the INDIA block at 39%, BRS at 13%, AIMIM at 2%, and other parties at 3% as projected by the survey.

Notably, in Telangana's Hyderabad constituency, AIMIM's chief Asaduddin Owaisi triumphed in 2019 with 517,239 votes, with BJP's Dr. Bhagwant Rao at second place with 235,285 votes. At that time, Telangana Rashtra Samithi's candidate Srikant secured third place with 63,239 votes. The first phase of voting back then recorded a 44.75% turnout.

This election season sees Madhavi Lata challenging Owaisi for the Hyderabad seat on behalf of the BJP.
