Nagpur police have apprehended a notorious thief who was known for committing a string of burglaries. This particular criminal was so audacious that he even targeted the home of Mumbai gangster Chhota Rajan. Following his arrest, the police detained his accomplice from Hyderabad.

This clever thief, identified as Mohammad Salim alias Habib Qureshi, has been a thorn in the side for the police in several cities of Maharashtra. Astonishingly, at 51, Salim has more than 200 cases against him filed in various police stations.

An officer revealed that Salim, originally from Mumbai, has been living in Hyderabad for many years now. During this time, his associate Shabbir alias Sabir Jamil Qureshi was also arrested in Hyderabad. He also hails from Mumbai's Govandi area, and has about two dozen crimes recorded against him.

The Nagpur police further disclosed that on March 26, these two thieves stole nearly 18 lakh rupees in cash and jewelry from a local businessman's home. Working off CCTV footage and additional intelligence, the police tracked them to Hyderabad and apprehended them on Tuesday. The culprits confessed to the police that they had sold the stolen jewelry to a jeweler in Mumbai.

Years ago, Salim targeted the home of gangster Chhota Rajan in Mumbai, making off with cash and jewels worth 4-5 crore rupees. When Rajan's gang members retaliated by shooting his accomplice for the crime, he fled Mumbai and took refuge in Hyderabad, where he has been living ever since.
