In the well-known Meerut case, only three names were under discussion - Saurabh, Muskan, and Sahil. However, a new name - 'Shankar' - came to light after Sahil's birthday celebration video went viral in Kasauli. The cake bore the name Shankar. This raised questions: Who is Shankar? Is there a mysterious secret behind this name or does Muskan lovingly call Sahil by this name?
The hotel delivery driver mentioned that on the 11th, Muskan ordered a cake via phone. He brought a cake from the Kasauli market at 8:30 PM. Muskan asked him to deliver it to the hotel and mentioned that it would be cut at midnight. The driver said he didn't know or care much about the name—they just followed orders. Locals noted that Sahil's room in Meerut had many images of Lord Shiva, and he often kept dreadlocks and took interest in mysticism. In this context, Muskan might have affectionately called Sahil 'Shankar'. The driver also revealed that Muskan inquired the next day if the cake had arrived. When he declined, she suggested hotel staff might have eaten it.
Testimony of Mystery
Sahil’s room walls in Meerut were nothing short of intriguing. Adorned with images of deities and mystic symbols, one striking element was two hands drawn on the wall, one holding a cigarette, captioned—"Puff..puff..pass". An ashtray on the table with numerous burnt cigarettes highlighted the scene. However, the most mysterious feature was a tree near Lord Shiva's picture, with a dangling cage and the word Ohm above it.

Both Addicted
In Chaudhary Charan Singh District Jail, Meerut, Muskan and her lover Sahil, accused of Saurabh's murder, are undergoing treatment for addiction, as revealed by jail authorities. According to Senior District Superintendent Dr. Viresh, health checks for new inmates showed addiction tendencies in Muskan and Sahil during their assessments. Doctors initiated immediate treatment, and they are receiving medication aimed at overcoming their addiction. Moreover, counseling and meditation techniques are part of the efforts to help them overcome this habit. The administration hopes their condition will significantly improve in 10 to 15 days.
Request for Public Defender
Muskan requested a public defender from jail authorities to fight her case, as no family member has visited or provided legal aid. The administration considered her request according to guidelines and filed a petition in court to ensure she receives a public defender. Authorities state that providing legal assistance to any inmate who formally requests a public defender is their duty.
Initially, both Muskan and Sahil appeared scared and wished to stay together, but according to jail regulations, male and female inmates are housed separately, and their request was not granted. Per jail rules, new inmates are exempt from work for the first 10 days. Afterward, they can choose to participate in prison activities.
Improvement in Condition
According to the doctor, Muskan and Sahil faced difficulties with food intake due to their addiction. However, as medication takes effect, their condition is improving. Initially quiet, they are now more communicative. Jail authorities mention that psychiatric help from a medical college might be arranged if required.
So far, no family members have visited Muskan and Sahil. Not even has Muskan expressed missing her daughter. The prison administration ensures both receive full security and medical attention, encouraging them to return to a normal life.
