Following the harrowing hit-and-run incident involving a BMW in Mumbai, the suspect Mihir Shah has been apprehended, and several startling disclosures have emerged. After the event, it is reported that Shah sought refuge at his girlfriend's residence in Borivali. After dragging a woman riding a scooter and abandoning his luxury vehicle by the roadside.

Once in Borivali, his girlfriend initially called his sister, who then connected him with his mother. His mother and sister visited him; afterward, they all departed for Shahpur. Having stayed in Shahpur for a day, Mihir then moved to Virar while his mother and sister returned home. It was revealed that in Virar, the suspect was using a friend's mobile phone.

It also came to light that after the incident, Mihir had communicated with his girlfriend 40 times. Upon reaching her home, he rested there for two hours. Not only is the girlfriend a business partner to his sister, Pooja, but on Sunday evening, Mihir, along with his mother, sister, and a friend, left for a resort in Shahpur in two cars. They stayed together until Monday evening before Mihir left.

Police sources indicate that Mihir Shah was continuously using his friend's phone, intermittently turning it off. The police had placed the friend's number under surveillance. As soon as his friend switched on the mobile Tuesday morning, the police traced the location and arrested Mihir from a resort at Virar Phata.

Mihir's mother and two sisters were summoned by the police

A senior officer explained that since Sunday morning, 24-year-old Mihir Shah was eluding the police but was eventually captured near Mumbai, in Virar. Before this arrest, his mother and two sisters were brought from Shahpur district, Thane, for interrogation. They were detained at the police station. According to the sources, this pressure played a crucial role in the significant breakthrough in Mihir's arrest.

Father's critical role in Mihir's flight

The police disclosed that Mihir Shah's father, Rajesh Shah, had actively assisted in his son's escape. He had planned to move the BMW after the accident. The police arrested him on Sunday, but he was released on bail by the court on Monday. Meanwhile, the driver arrested in this case, Rajrshi Bidawat's police custody was extended until July 11.

Juhu bar sealed, where alcohol was served

The Excise Department of Maharashtra sealed a bar in Mumbai's Juhu area on Tuesday, where Mihir Shah and his friends had been on Saturday night. The bar manager had served Mihir, who is not yet 24 years old, while the legal drinking age in Maharashtra is 25. An Excise Department officer stated that the bar was sealed as per the collector's orders due to violation of regulations.

Chilling CCTV footage presented in court

On Tuesday, the police presented terrible CCTV footage of the incident in court. It showed Mihir Shah dragging Kaveri Nakhwa with his luxury car for 1.5 kilometers. Later on, Mihir and Bidawat removed the woman from the bonnet and fled, leaving her lying in the road. Bidawat then got behind the wheel, and as he reversed the car, he ruthlessly ran over the victim before fleeing at high speed.

Woman entangled in BMW's tires

A police official recounted, "After the accident in the Worli area on Sunday morning, the victim got entangled in the BMW's tire. After dragging her some distance, Mihir and Bidawat stopped the car and removed her. Then Bidawat took over the driving seat and crushed the victim while reversing, subsequently fleeing from the scene." The injured husband of the victim, Pradeep Nakhwa, is now out of danger.

A video has surfaced of Pradeep Lilaadhar Nakhwa, husband of deceased Kaveri, sharing the excruciating moments of the incident. In the video, he emotionally recounts, "I banged on the bonnet of his car, telling him to stop, but he fled. Everyone knows the pain she must have endured, yet no one is acting. There is no one for the poor."
