Umar Ansari:
Dad, are you okay?
Mukhtar Ansari:
Yes, son, I'm alright.
Umar Ansari:
Thank God for your safety... It's the holy month of Ramadan.
Mukhtar Ansari:
I am experiencing fainting spells. Feeling very weak.
Umar Ansari:
I saw in the news that you’ve become weak. We're in court, trying to get permission to meet. The Inspector is also working on it. If we get permission, we'll come.
Mukhtar Ansari:
I can't sit up. I can't stand up.
Umar Ansari:
The effect of poison is evident. It's all poison's impact. Be courageous, Father. Make a call; it was good hearing your voice.
Mukhtar Ansari:
Yes, son, the body gives out... but the soul remains.
Umar Ansari:
Stay strong... you still have to perform Hajj... Others would have perished by now.
Mukhtar Ansari:
I can't stand. I am depending on a wheelchair now.
Umar Ansari:
You'll regain your health soon.
Mukhtar Ansari:
Today, I fainted again.
Umar Ansari:
Are you able to go to the restroom?
Mukhtar Ansari:
I haven’t been able to for ten days.
Umar Ansari:
I will bring Zamzam water for you... dates... fruits.
It is worth noting that 63-year-old Mukhtar Ansari, imprisoned for several years, succumbed to a cardiac arrest Thursday night. He fell ill in jail, had a complaint of vomiting, and was found unconscious. He was taken to the emergency ward of Rani Durgavati Medical College. Unfortunately, he died during treatment due to cardiac arrest. The administration announced his death later that night.
An alert has been issued across the state following Mukhtar Ansari's death. Police are conducting flag marches in Mau and Ghazipur. Section 144 has been imposed in Mau, Banda, and Ghazipur. A heavy police force is stationed outside the Medical College and Banda Jail. A panel of five doctors is performing the postmortem of Mukhtar Ansari's body, which will then be handed over to the family.
Mukhtar Ansari had accused of being given slow poison
Just days before his death, Mukhtar Ansari penned a letter to the court claiming that he was being administered slow poison in jail. He expressed that he was fed poisonous substances in his meal on the night of March 19, following which his health deteriorated. Mukhtar's son Umar Ansari believes his father was subjected to slow poisoning and alleges a deep conspiracy behind his death. The family now places their trust in the judiciary, having previously accused the administration of plotting Mukhtar's murder.
