The Indore Police of Madhya Pradesh scored a significant breakthrough by solving the case of a Rs 31 lakh jewelry theft within ten days. After examining footage from over 300 CCTV cameras, the police arrested the prime accused and his mother, who assisted in hiding the stolen goods.
This case pertains to the Lasudia police station area. The incident took place on the evening of November 16, when the accused scaled the balcony wall, entered the house, and made off with gold and silver jewelry from the closet. Given the seriousness of the incident, the police immediately formed a special team.
The team scrutinized footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras installed around the crime site. Through relentless efforts, the police apprehended the accused in Ratlam, identified as Hashim Ali, from whom gold-silver jewelry worth around Rs 31 lakh was recovered.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was entrusting the stolen items with his mother in Ratlam. His mother was also involved in helping convert the stolen assets into cash, leading the police to arrest her as an accomplice and recover the entire stolen loot from her possession.
According to the police, Hashim Ali had three prior criminal cases against him. His aim was to commit thefts to accumulate money and continually stop new offenses to improve his lifestyle.
The team made intense efforts to apprehend the accused and recover the goods, unraveling the major theft within just ten days successfully.
The Lasudia police team's commendable action has been widely appreciated. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections, and further actions are underway.
