A shocking incident has surfaced from Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh. A young man staged a fake kidnapping of himself to demand a ransom of 2.5 lakh rupees from his family to bear his girlfriend's costs. The police investigation uncovered this conspiracy. The accused used a mobile app to execute his plan. Currently, the police have detained the young man and put him behind bars.
On November 6, Surendra Singh Kushwaha reported the disappearance of his 18-year-old son, Sandeep, at the Gohad Police Station in Bhind. He informed the police that his son left home and did not return. On November 8, Sandeep's father received a call claiming that his son had been kidnapped and a ransom of 2.5 lakh rupees was being demanded for his safe return. Frightened, the father rushed to the police station and explained the phone conversation to the authorities.
Police Tracked the Kidnappers Using Mobile Location
Upon hearing about the kidnapping and ransom, the police acted swiftly and began an in-depth investigation. Evidence soon revealed that Sandeep was in Gwalior, and using mobile locations, they traced and found him.
When the young man kept misleading the police, the investigating officers grew suspicious and interrogated him. They discovered that he had orchestrated his own kidnapping. He had willingly left home because he needed money, but when his family refused to give him any, he resorted to such drastic measures. Once the truth was revealed, the police arrested the accused young man and filed a case against him.
According to the head of the police station, Inspector Gopal Singh Sikarwar, during a rigorous interrogation, the young man confessed his romantic involvement with a girl from Gurugram and that he lacked funds to meet her and cover her expenses. He initially tried to ask his family for money, but they refused. Consequently, he disappeared from home, downloaded a voice changer app on his mobile phone, and using the altered voice, he called his father demanding a ransom of 2.5 lakh rupees by posing as a kidnapper. He even threatened to kill himself if the ransom was not paid.
