Mitchell Starc 1st Ashes Test 2025:
The first Test of the 2025-26 Ashes Series between Australia and England took place at Optus Stadium. On the opening day (November 21), Mitchell Starc delivered a stunning spell, claiming three wickets for just 39 runs.
Joe Root, at zero, was brilliantly caught by Marnus Labuschagne off Mitchell Starc's delivery, marking Starc's 100th Ashes wicket. He became the 21st bowler to achieve this feat.
Starc reached yet another remarkable milestone, becoming the first left-arm fast bowler to claim 100 wickets in the Ashes. He is the 13th Australian to achieve this in the storied series.
With Pat Cummins unfit and Josh Hazlewood injured, Starc took charge of the pace attack alongside Scott Boland and debutant Brendan Doggett. This series presents him the opportunity to surpass Pakistan's Wasim Akram's record of 414 Test wickets as a left-arm pacer.
