The conflict between Israel and Hamas has now reached the threshold of Iran, following tensions with Lebanon. Iran, a predominantly Shia nation, is increasingly showing its involvement in the conflict, heightening fears of the war spreading across the entire Middle East. The gradual escalation of this conflict raises the question: will it transform into an All-Out War?
Should this happen, it would have profound negative impacts on the world. An All-Out War implies that the conflict would be fought with full determination, utilizing maximum resources and energy. However, U.S. President Joe Biden has made statements regarding the possibility of an all-out war.
The President stated, 'I don’t foresee a full-scale war happening in the Middle East. Such conflicts can be avoided, but it necessitates more earnest efforts.'
When asked about his confidence in avoiding such a war, Biden responded, 'How confident are you it won’t rain? I don’t think an all-out war is imminent. We can prevent it.'
President Biden further expressed, 'There’s still much to be done.' When queried about sending U.S. troops to aid Israel, he affirmed America’s historical support, stating, 'We have previously stood by Israel and will continue to ensure its protection.'
The prospect of war in the Middle East has stirred global concern. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has now expanded to involve Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel has conducted airstrikes targeting Hezbollah's positions. The Israeli military claims to have killed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s chief. It’s also rumored that Safi al-Din, Nasrallah's alleged successor, was taken down by Israel, though this remains unconfirmed.
