Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and head of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, has arrived in Pahalgam. During her visit, she met with local residents and assessed the situation that arose after the terrorist attack. The attack in question led to the tragic loss of 26 innocent tourists.
'Kashmiris are against bloodshed...'
Upon reaching Pahalgam, Mehbooba Mufti noted, "People who were working here, selling shawls, and tea sellers are being detained. They are summoned to the police station in the morning, kept hungry throughout the day, and sent home in the evening. What is happening?"
She further appealed to the Home Minister, saying that Kashmiris have proven they are against bloodshed and stand in solidarity with the nation. Hundreds have been detained across Kashmir, which is not acceptable. All tourist spots in Pahalgam have been closed. We have enough forces; deploy them at the tourist spots.

'Called for inquiry, sent back in coffins...'
Mehbooba Mufti remarked, "The people of Jammu and Kashmir have an ancient bond with the nation's people. Gujjar Bakarwals are not allowed into the forests by the army. They are accused of feeding militants, but the truth is they barely have enough for themselves. We can raise many questions but choose not to at this moment."
She emphasized further, "They are cooperating to such an extent that they respond when summoned to the station. Individuals like Imtiaz Nagri in Bandipora and Kulgam are called for questioning, only to have their bodies sent back. Will you see every Kashmiri with militant eyes?"
Mehbooba Mufti urged the Home Minister to recognize that Kashmiris have raised their voice against terrorism. Take one step, and we will take two. Stop sending coffins. Will you label anyone OGW and kill them? This is an opportunity for the HM today; Kashmiris are united, wanting to heal your wounds, do not cause them further pain.
