A fierce campaign against illegal constructions was carried out by the Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday in the southern zone. This operation is set to continue into Thursday in the central district of Delhi.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has kicked off assertive action against illegal building works. Wednesday witnessed considerable operations in central and south zone areas. In the central zone's Abul Fazal Enclave-1, Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, Zakir Nagar, and Batla House, 25 properties were sealed, bearing the new locks of enforcement.

The corporation asserts that its crackdown on unauthorized constructions is stringent. The MCD states a zero-tolerance policy on illegal constructions is being actively pursued. It has also flagged continuous demolitions and sealing against illegal plotting/colonization.

'Today's campaign to stride through the central region'

Wednesday saw the MCD running its sealing campaign in the central zone's Abul Fazal Enclave-1 and the Shaheen Bagh area. Abul Fazal Enclave-1, Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, Zakir Nagar, and Batla House saw 25 properties sealed, with today's campaign sustaining its momentum against unlawful constructions in the central area.

The South Delhi Hammer: MCD's Strike Against Illegal Constructions

South Zone's Mehrauli, Fatehpur Beri, and Vasant Kunj areas also experienced MCD's demolition drive against unauthorized structures. Five properties underwent the hammer of justice in these districts.

MCD's relentless action against illegal constructions

Prior to this, the Delhi Municipal Corporation has already engaged in actions against unauthorized construction and illicit plotting within the national capital. The month of January saw demolitions at a total of 440 locations. MCD officials reiterate that unauthorized constructions will not be tolerated and surveillance will be ongoing. The civic body has made it clear that it will not condone any violations and will utilize all available resources to dismantle such structures.
