Maruti Suzuki remains the frontrunner in the CNG vehicle segment, yet in recent years, brands such as Hyundai, Toyota, and Tata Motors have made significant inroads. Tata Motors notably grabbed the spotlight by introducing the country's first CNG automatic cars, the Tigor and Tiago, thereby gaining a substantial edge in the market. Moreover, Tata Motors has been providing an improved boot space to its customers by incorporating twin cylinder technology in its CNG cars.

India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is now preparing to give its CNG portfolio a major update. Today, the company has released a teaser video on social media for its upcoming new S-CNG range. The teaser video has sparked speculation that Maruti Suzuki might employ sophisticated technology similar to Tata Motors in its CNG cars, including the introduction of dual-cylinder technology.

Teaser Insights:

The teaser issued by Maruti Suzuki's official handle claims that they are about to present CNG technology like never before, promising a unique driving experience that is unprecedented. It is worth noting that currently, Maruti Suzuki's CNG portfolio spans 12 passenger cars, ranging from the Alto K10 to the Grand Vitara.

Awaited SWIFT CNG:

Recently, Maruti Suzuki launched the fourth generation of its iconic Swift in a fresh avatar. This model is introduced with a new 1.2-liter 'Z' series engine in the market. The company states that the weight of the new Swift is reduced by approximately 100 kilograms compared to the first-generation model, and its mileage has doubled. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Swift will offer a mileage of 25.72 kilometers per liter. While currently available only in a petrol variant, anticipation is high for the launch of its CNG model.

Dual-Cylinder Technology in Maruti:

The biggest issue with CNG cars is the large cylinder placed in the boot, compromising on trunk space. However, Tata Motors has addressed this by deploying dual-cylinder technology, recently using two 30-liter CNG cylinders in their new launches, eliminating the need to sacrifice boot space. Maruti Suzuki is anticipated to offer a similar solution soon.
