Amid the political turmoil in West Bengal, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar has launched serious allegations against the state's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, and her government. Targeting the Mamata administration, Majumdar said, "There is no democracy left in Bengal anymore. Law and order have completely collapsed in the state. The Kolkata Police Commissioner should be immediately removed, and Mamata Banerjee must resign as Chief Minister. Bengal no longer needs her."
Outlining the strategy for the coming days, Majumdar said, "There will be no protests tomorrow due to Krishna Janmashtami. However, on August 28th, the BJP's Women’s Wing will lock up the West Bengal Women's Commission office because the commission is not taking any substantial action to ensure the safety and rights of women in the state. Following this, on August 29th, protests demanding Mamata Banerjee’s resignation will be held outside the DM offices in all districts."
Sukanta Majumdar has also called for an investigation against the state's Health Minister and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He stated, "There should be an immediate inquiry against West Bengal's Health Minister. Additionally, Mamata Banerjee’s phone should be confiscated for a detailed investigation."
This proposed demonstration by the BJP’s Women’s Wing could pose another significant challenge for the Mamata Banerjee government. Given the BJP’s aggression, it is clear that West Bengal's politics could become even more heated in the coming days. The purpose of this protest against the Women's Commission is to highlight the government's indifference towards women's safety and rights in the state.
