This is Manu Bhaker's second Olympics. She made her debut at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, but her pistol malfunctioned during the 10-meter air pistol qualification round, preventing her from securing a medal. However, this time, Manu demonstrated her prowess and aimed for the medal, overcoming past hurdles. She also missed out on medals in the mixed team 10-meter pistol and 25-meter pistol events.

At the Paris Olympics 2024, 22-year-old Manu Bhaker is competing in the women's 10-meter air pistol, 10-meter air pistol mixed team, and women's 25-meter pistol events. Manu Bhaker is the youngest Indian to win a gold medal in the ISSF World Cup. She is also the Commonwealth Games champion in the women's 10-meter air pistol event, having won the top medal at the Gold Coast 2018 with a CWG record. Manu Bhaker was the first Indian shooter to win a gold medal at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires 2018 and the first female athlete from India to do so. Switching to Shooting After Boxing Injury

Born in Jhajjar, Haryana, Manu Bhaker participated in tennis, skating, and boxing competitions during her school days. She also took part in a martial art called 'Thang Ta' where she won medals at the national level. However, an eye injury during boxing ended her journey in that sport. But Manu's passion for sports led her to become a distinguished shooter. At the age of 14, shortly after the Rio Olympics 2016, Manu asked her supportive father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, to buy her a shooting pistol. The decision proved to be transformative, eventually shaping Manu Bhaker into an Olympian.
