After eight series, both Manu and Hungary's Veronika Major were tied. The shoot-off that followed resulted in Manu losing, missing her chance for a medal.

Manu competed in three medal events this Olympics, reaching the finals in all of them, and winning medals in two. Overall, her performance won the hearts of all Indians.

After the women's 25-meter pistol final, Manu said there was pressure regarding this event. She mentioned keeping away from social media during the Paris Olympics, having no idea of the outside buzz. Manu's Record-Setting Performances

Before this, Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in the individual 10-meter air pistol event and, along with Sarabjot Singh, won another bronze in the mixed team category. She became the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic event, setting a record.

Norman Pritchard Was the Only One Before Manu

Before Manu Bhaker, British-born Indian athlete Norman Pritchard won silver medals in the 200-meter dash and 200-meter hurdles at the 1900 Olympics, but that achievement was before India's independence.

Three Medals in Shooting

For the first time, an Indian shooter clinched a medal in the 50-meter rifle three-position event. It's India's third medal at the current Olympic Games, with the previous two also in shooting. Thus, it's the first time India has won three medals in shooting in one Olympic season.
