To restore peace and order in Manipur, the central government has directed security forces to take necessary actions. In recent days, tensions have escalated due to security concerns. Armed rioters from the conflicting Kuki and Meitei communities have engaged in violence, leading to the loss of lives and disrupting public order. The Ministry of Home Affairs has handed over the investigation of three cases in Manipur to the NIA.

Case 1 - A confrontation between CRPF and Kuki militants. In an encounter in Jiribam, security forces eliminated 10 Kuki insurgents.

Case 2 - The abduction of six individuals has also been handed over to the NIA.

Case 3 - Days after the kidnapping of six people in Jiribam, three bodies were discovered. These events have been separately recorded by the NIA.

In an effort to counter the resurgence of violence in Manipur, the Ministry of Home Affairs is deploying additional CAPF troops, reinforcing with 2000 personnel and ready to send more as needed.

Strict action will be taken against anyone attempting violent or destructive activities in Manipur. Certain cases have been assigned to the NIA for effective investigation.

It should be noted that three missing (abducted) individuals from Jiribam were found deceased on Friday evening at Jirimukh on the Assam-Manipur border. These persons were kidnapped from a Jiribam camp a few days prior. Their bodies have been sent to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem after being sighted in the Jiri river. Previously, in a significant security operation in Manipur, at least 11 armed Kuki militants, who aimed to attack a police station in Jiribam district's Borobekra, were neutralized.
