Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has raised critical questions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the decision to allow tourists to travel to Kashmir, despite the cancellation of his visit on April 17 due to security concerns. Why put tourists’ lives at risk? He stated that we are engaged in sporadic conflicts with Pakistan.

Mallikarjun Kharge is in Karnataka to attend the 'Progressive Karnataka - Commitment Pledge' program, from where he launched an attack on the central government.

Mallikarjun Kharge alleged disrespect by a BJP minister towards Colonel Sophia Qureshi, labeling her as a Pakistan agent after she expressed her views. Following this, we (Congress and other opposition parties) demanded the resignation of the BJP minister. However, there has been no action from the Prime Minister yet.

He emphasized that those who make the nation proud cannot be disrespected. The BJP should first expel traitors within its ranks before commenting on others. No one has the right to disrespect the Indian Army.

Kharge mentioned- Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to visit Kashmir on April 17. However, intelligence inputs suggested potential security disruptions, leading to the visit’s cancellation. This implies that there was prior knowledge of security concerns. If this information was known beforehand, why wasn't it communicated to the tourists via the police? Such communication could have saved 26 lives.

He criticized Pakistan as a weak nation persistently trying to destabilize India, using China as an ally. Using China’s backing, they seek confrontation with India, but India will never tolerate this. Indians will unite and provide a fitting response.

Kharge emphasized that I have repeatedly stated we stand with the nation in this struggle, as the country comes first. However, today, for BJP and Modi, it appears Modi comes first, not the nation.

He said, Prime Minister Modi has been traveling abroad continuously for 11 years, visiting 72 countries. Yet, when India needed international support to expose Pakistan, no nation stepped forward to help us.

He continued, we are engaged in sporadic conflicts with Pakistan. Operation Sindoor is currently on hold. If Pakistan dares to attempt their nefarious plans again, the Indian Army is ready to respond aptly under Operation Sindoor.

BJP leader and minister Kailash Vijayvargiya responded to Mallikarjun Kharge's statement. Kailash stressed, Nation First above all else, politics should not precede national interest. Kharge is a senior leader but must not forget the sentiment of Nation First should be in everyone. I won't make personal comments about Kharge, but when it concerns the nation, political parties should refrain from politics. Unfortunately, some are politicizing topics that should remain above politics.

Vijayvargiya further referenced Sharad Pawar mentioning how when Narsimha Rao was Prime Minister, India was harshly notified about human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir by the UN. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was sent to present India’s position at the UN then, accompanied by Sharad Pawar. This example showcases how all parties can unite for national interest.

He asserted that when it pertains to the nation, one should rise above politics. Today, the public comprehends well the statements made by Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
