Tragic Mid-Air Collision of Military Helicopters in Malaysia, 10 Casualties Reported

In a catastrophic event, two Malaysian Navy helicopters crashed mid-air resulting in the tragic loss of 10 lives. The collision occurred during the annual rehearsal program of the Royal Malaysian Navy.

The rehearsal was underway at the Royal Malaysian Navy Stadium in Lumut on Tuesday. Footage of the horrific incident has gone viral on social media, showcasing two helicopters, identified as the Fennec M502-6 and the HOM M503-3, clashing in the sky. The first helicopter plummeted onto the stadium steps, while the second one crashed into a swimming pool.

The Navy has confirmed that all 10 victims were crew members aboard the helicopters. Local time reports indicate the incident happened at 9:32 am on Tuesday.

Malaysia witnessed an emergency helicopter landing last year, which fortunately ended with the crew narrowly escaping disaster.
