In the AajTak Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey, people from Maharashtra shared their opinions on the performance of the government, the Chief Minister, MPs, and legislators. The survey revealed significant insights into public satisfaction and dissatisfaction, reflecting the current political scenario in the state.

According to the MOTN survey, 25% of people in Maharashtra are completely satisfied with the state government’s performance, while 34% are somewhat satisfied. However, around 34% of the population expressed dissatisfaction with the government's work. This data indicates that opinions on the government’s performance are mixed among the people.

Survey reveals mixed reactions from the people of Maharashtra regarding the performance of their government, with unemployment being the most significant concern. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains highly popular in the state.

35% of the people are satisfied with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s performance, with another 31% being somewhat satisfied. However, 28% of the population is dissatisfied with his efforts. This suggests that while the Chief Minister’s performance meets some expectations, there is still room for improvement.

For legislators, 41% of people are satisfied, which is a better rating compared to MPs. 26% are somewhat satisfied, while 27% are dissatisfied. This indicates higher satisfaction with legislators’ work compared to that of MPs.

MOTN survey highlights mixed feedback on leadership performance in Maharashtra, with unemployment ranked as the most pressing issue. PM Modi is a leading choice for the role of Prime Minister.

Major Issues in Maharashtra

This survey also found that the most significant issue for the people of Maharashtra is unemployment, prioritized by 32% of the respondents. Development and inflation are critical issues for another 15% of the populace each. Farmer-related issues are a priority for 13%, while law and order and corruption are concerns for 2% and 4% respectively. This data underscores that job scarcity is the most significant worry for the people of the state.

Unemployment is the primary concern identified by the people of Maharashtra in the MOTN survey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to be highly favored as the preferred PM candidate.

Top Choice for Prime Minister

Narendra Modi is the top choice for Prime Minister among the people of Maharashtra, with 46% support. Rahul Gandhi follows with support from 34% of the respondents. This data indicates sustained popularity for Modi in the state, although Rahul Gandhi is also emerging as a strong contender.

Role of the Opposition

Regarding the performance of the opposition, 11% of people are satisfied, 21% are somewhat satisfied, but 30% are dissatisfied. This reflects the expectation for the opposition to play a more effective role in the state.

The AajTak Mood of the Nation survey was conducted between July 15 and August 10, 2024. It gathered responses from 1,36,436 people across 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, aiming to capture the public’s thoughts and perspectives on the country's current situation.
