The voting process for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra has concluded. By 5 PM, the voting percentage reached a notable 58.22%. With candidates' fates now sealed in the EVMs, everyone eagerly waits for November 23 when the election results will be officially declared. However, before that, exit poll results offer a preliminary glimpse.
The statistics from Matrize's exit polls are out, predicting that the ruling alliance, Mahayuti, may secure between 150-170 seats, whereas the MVA may claim 110-130 seats, leaving 8-10 seats for other parties.
According to Chanakya Strategies' exit polls, Mahayuti is estimated to have 152 to 160 seats, while the MVA alliance might secure 130 to 138 seats, with other parties capturing 6 to 8 seats.
Moreover, JVC's exit polls suggest Mahayuti possibly gaining 159 seats, MVA obtaining 116 seats, and others 13 seats. Specifically addressing the Marathwada region, of the 46 seats, Mahayuti may achieve 19, MVA 25, and others 2. In the Thane-Konkan area, Mahayuti seems poised for a significant win, possibly taking 25 out of 39 seats, with MVA trailing at 11 and others at 3.

Delving into the potential choice for Maharashtra's Chief Minister, JVC’s survey reveals that 32.6% of respondents favor Eknath Shinde. Uddhav Thackeray follows with 22.1%, Devendra Fadnavis with 18.7%, and Nana Patole with 7.2%.

Maharashtra’s Contest: Mahayuti vs. MVA
The electoral battlefield in Maharashtra is primarily set between the ruling Mahayuti alliance (including BJP, Shinde's faction, and Ajit Pawar's group) and the opposition MVA alliance (comprising the Uddhav faction, Sharad Pawar's group, and Congress). In the Mahayuti camp, the BJP contends on 149 seats, Shiv Sena on 81, and Ajit Pawar's NCP on 59. Within MVA, Congress has fielded candidates for 101 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) for 95, and Sharad Pawar's NCP for 86 seats. The electoral arena also includes smaller parties such as the Bahujan Samaj Party and AIMIM, with BSP contesting 237 seats and AIMIM 17. Across Maharashtra, a total of 4,136 candidates vie for 288 assembly seats.
