Madhavi Raje Scindia, mother of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, has seen her health deteriorate significantly. She was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi, about 12 days ago due to a lung infection. However, with no improvement in her condition, she is now on a ventilator support.
According to Jyotiraditya Scindia's public relations officer, Madhavi Raje's condition continues to be critical. Jyotiraditya has been diligent in her care, even as he continues his tours to Guna, Shivpuri, and Gwalior. Approximately 70 years old, Madhavi Raje has been battling illness for an extended period.
Remember when Scindia aligned with BJP in Guna, catapulting them to a parliamentary victory once envisioned?
Vijayaraje, a Jan Sangh founding member, leaves a legacy.
Jyotiraditya Scindia's grandmother, Vijayaraje Scindia, was one of the founding members of the Jan Sangh, whereas his father, Madhavrao Scindia, was a prominent Congress leader. Following Madhavrao's demise, Jyotiraditya took over the reins of his father's political legacy. In March 2020, he switched allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Madhavi Raje's royal connections trace back to Nepal.
Originally named Princess Kiran Rajya Lakshmi Devi, Madhavi Raje hails from the royal family of Nepal. Her grandfather, Shamsheer Jung Bahadur Rana, was the Prime Minister of Nepal. Her marriage to Madhavrao Scindia of the Gwalior royal family took place in 1966.
