In a significant action by the Yogi government regarding misconduct with women and pedestrians during the rain in Lucknow, the local police deputy commissioner (DCP), additional police deputy commissioner (ADCP), and assistant police commissioner have been immediately removed. Additionally, the local in-charge, sub-inspectors, and all the police personnel present at the outpost have been suspended.
Previously, four separate police teams were formed to apprehend the hooligans and anarchists. Based on the video footage, the police have arrested four youths involved in the misconduct. The charges have been increased for molestation. Currently, the search for the remaining accused is ongoing.
Multiple videos of the incident are going viral on social media, depicting miscreants harassing girls, women, and elderly people in the rain. Some are pushing scooter riders into water puddles, while others are opening car doors and throwing dirty water inside. In one instance, hooligans pushed a couple on a bike into the water and harassed the girl.
On July 31, near the underpass by the Taj Hotel in the Gomti Nagar police station area in Lucknow, there was waterlogging due to the rain. A large crowd of hooligans gathered around the area and started harassing passers-by and vehicles. The video of some youths harassing a couple on a bike went viral, causing an uproar. People demanded strict action, leading to an FIR being registered at the Gomti Nagar police station. Four separate teams and the crime team were assigned to arrest the anarchists. In the process, four accused have been arrested.

Search for Absconding Hooligans Intensifies
A police official mentioned that based on the gathered evidence and CCTV footage, related charges have been increased. Currently, multiple sections of the BNS 2023 are in effect, addressing offenses related to offending a woman's dignity. The remaining accused will be arrested soon.
Furthermore, the official stated that following the order of actions, the local police deputy commissioner, additional police deputy commissioner, and assistant police commissioner have been removed due to evident negligence. Additionally, the local in-charge, sub-inspectors, and all the police personnel present at the outpost have been suspended.
