Insight on the Lucknow NEET Student’s Appeal:
The plea by student Ayushi Patel over a torn OMR sheet came under the scrutiny of the Lucknow High Court. National Testing Agency (NTA) submitted proof of Ayushi's email, the very address that reportedly received a picture of the torn OMR sheet from NTA. The court has instructed NTA to produce the original OMR sheet as well.
The NTA requested three days at the Lucknow High Court to furnish additional documents. The following hearing has been scheduled for June 18. Post the NEET results, Ayushi Patel made headlines when she announced through a video that her result was withheld by NTA due to the damaged OMR sheet. Ayushi claimed no fault in the mishap and consequentially filed a petition with the Lucknow High Court.
Next Hearing Scheduled for June 18
In response to the viral video, NTA denied sending such an email to Ayushi Patel. It emerged that Ayushi's results were uploaded under a different application number, making them invisible under her registered number. The High Court is to verify all documents in this contentious case with the next hearing just days away on June 18.
NEET Controversy in The Spotlight at Supreme Court:
Today, the Supreme Court is also set to deliberate on a petition related to grace marks in NEET examinations. The bench led by Justice Vikram Nath will present their arguments. Previously, it was ruled that NTA's counseling procedure would continue unabated and no re-exam would be conducted. This aligns with Delhi High Court's proclamation that counseling will proceed as scheduled.
